Kenyan police officers have arrested a man said to be a dangerous al-Shabaab suspect.

The man identified as Boru Diba Dibe, is said to have been a bomb maker with the terror group.

TUKO.co.ke has learnt that Boru worked as a boda-boda operator in Moyale before he joined the militant group.

During the arrest police recovered several bomb making materials at his house.

Police also recovered a detonation cord, ball bearings and cables used in Improvised Explosive Devices (IED).

"He was planning to carry out a bomb attack. Security agencies established that he was a key link person between al-Shabaab operatives in Isiolo and Somalia," a statement from the police read.

Police in the country have kept tight surveillance on suspected terrorists.

With al-Shabaab attacks increasing in the last three months as the country heads to the General Election, fear of terrorist attacks is high.
