Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko is on the spot after his bodyguards allegedly shot two supporters on Sunday, July 16, while he was campaigning in Nairobi's Embakasi area.

Reports indicate that two people are admitted at the Mama Lucy hospital with gunshot wounds on arms and thighs after the incident.

TUKO.co.ke understands that Sonko was at Vumilia village in Outering Road when a scuffle ensued over handouts he was allegedly dishing to the supporters.

To protect the Nairobi governorship aspirant, his bodyguards drew their guns and shot haphazardly to the crowd, injuring two people.

According to Nairobi DCI chief Ireri Kamwende, police have swung into action as they investigate the matter.

The latest incident comes a few years after Sonko caused a stir when his bodyguards walked around carrying loaded guns.

The incident was so serious that authorities swung into action and threatened stun action against the flamboyant senator and the bodyguards.

Sonko is seeking to unseat Governor Evans Kidero in the August 8 General Election.
