The new President of Mongolia could possibly be the world's fittest leader.

Battulga Khaltmaa, who was sworn into office on July 11 after narrowly winning the country's polls earlier in July, is a former world champion wrestler.

The fitness fanatic was world champion in the martial art of sambo – a Soviet martial art that translates as "self-defence without weapon."

He is also the former president of his country's judo association. Pictures available online show how muscular and fit he is.

Battulga is reportedly a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is also a known fitness buff and a keen judo wrestler.
