Raila to join forces with Karua, Munya in case of run-off, or win

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga will reach out to Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, rebel-Meru Governor Peter Munya and some independent candidates should the August 8 elections go to a run-off, or if he wins the August 8 election.

Reports from Orange House indicate that, the five NASA principals have already expressed willingness to sacrifice key positions allocated to them in the pre-election deal that would be used to lure Narc Kenya, PNU and the independents into NASA.

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago is also being targetted to help NASA increase its support-base in Rift Valley region.

Currently, NASA’s resurgence in Rift Valley is being spearheaded by Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, who is also a principal in the coalition.

Other principals include Raila’s running mate Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula.

Both Martha Karua and Peter Munya have been critical of Jubilee Party and despite public pronouncement that they supported Uhuru Kenyatta, reports indicate that part of their parties machinery is being used to support NASA’s Raila Odinga.

Karua has for instance only expressed the party’s support for Uhuru Kenyatta in central region branches while openly allowing the party members in other parts of the country to support whoever they want for president.

These utterances have not augured well with Jubilee leaders who perceive it as a hypocritical proclamation only aimed at working to gain support for her candidate in the Kirinyaga governorship race.

In this regard, Jubilee part leader President Uhuru Kenyatta has, through his deputy William Ruto and key party leaders in Kirinyaga to gather support for Jubilee candidate Anne Waiguru in the governorship race.

During his visit of Meru recently, Raila Odinga openly endorsed Peter Munya for the seat raising the speculations even further.

Raila had to cancel his rally to Kirinyaga two months ago, upon advice that it would be detrimental to Karua’s campaign, due to his close association with the Narc Kenya leader.

Orange has not far not responded to a report that appeared on the Star last month that it had injected Ksh50 million into Karua’s campaign.

An ODM Director intimated to Ramogi Radio that contact has already been established between leaders of Narc Kenya and PNU to seal the deal that would supposedly give them additional numbers as they seek to defeat President Uhuru Kenyatta.

NASA has also foreseen a tumultuous tenure should they win the elections, thus using one of the technical committee members David Ndii to broker a deal with Narc Kenya, PNU and Jubilee-rebel independent candidates to consolidate their numbers in Parliament and Council of Governors.
