Stop weakening NASA, Wetangula warned

- Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has been accused of planning to weaken NASA alliance by forcing ODM candidates to step down

- Ford Kenya had asked ODM to withdraw its candidates after declaring Bungoma county it's stronghold

- The wrangles between ODM and Ford Kenya over the Bungoma elective seats have been going on for months now

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula is facing accusations for planning to weaken the National Super Alliance (NASA).

ODM deputy leader Wycliffe Oparanya accused the Ford-Kenya principal of forcing ODM candidates to step down for Ford Kenya party members.

Speaking in Bungoma during the launch of ODM's Alfred Khangati's gubernatorial race, Oparanya warned Wetangula to stop forcing candidates to resign.

"Why does Wetangula want Ford Kenya party to be treated in a special way?" Oparanya posed.

He further stated that all NASA affiliated parties are free to field candidates for elective positions in the county.

"Everyone has a democratic right to contest any elective seat on a party. I sincerely thank ODM candidates for refusing to resign in favour of Ford Kenya," Oparanya said.

Wetangula's party has been embroiled in a row with ODM for months threatening to split the two NASA-affiliated parties over the choice of candidates.

As reported by Ford-Kenya candidates had declared Bungoma its stronghold calling ODM to withdraw it's candidates.
