- Raila, during a meeting with supporters in Kibera, declared that he his camp would force the officials out

- He insists the current commission is unfit to conduct any election

NASA leader Raila Odinga has declared that his camp was not ready to go back to the elections with the current IEBC personell.

Raila, while addressing supporters in Kibera on Tuesday, September 12, warned that his team would flush out the IEBC officials for new ones if need be.

The NASA leader was speaking in a parallel address to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s parliamentary sitting.

He cautioned of the prospect of the repeat elections slated for October 17 being handled by the very officials who were allegedly involved in malpractices which ultimately led to the nullification of the presidential poll.

“We are saying we are not ready to go back to an election with those thieves. We have put in place strict rules and we will not allow those officials to oversee another election,” Raila declared.

He was speaking at the back of an announcement by IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati that the team had patched the loose ends after reports of a looming fallout.

Chebukati, on Monday, September 11, announced that the IEBC officials had resolved to conduct a free , fair and credible election in the next 34 days.

NASA frontman Raila is however not convinced.

“They now claim IEBC are now United to do the elections. We are saying we are not ready for those thieves again,” He warned.

Earlier in the day, IEBC was to hold an important meeting with Jubilee candidate Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (NASA) candidate Raila Odinga on Tuesday, September 12 at its offices at Anniversary Towers.

However, the meeting could not kick off after NASA representatives walked out complaining of lateness on the side of Jubilee.
